Privacy Policy

Yorozu Corporation and its affiliates (collectively referred to as “we” and “our”) have established and implemented this Privacy Policy in the belief that proper protection of personal information is part of our corporate social responsibility. This Policy is reviewed and revised as necessary for improvement.

1) Compliance with Applicable Laws and Regulations

We comply with laws and directives related to the protection of personal information, as well as laws and ministry/agency guidelines and other regulations concerning the handling of personal information, and this Policy when acquiring, managing, using or deleting personal information in the course of our business. We are continuously seeking better ways to ensure that personal information is handled properly.

2) Acquisition of Personal Information

1. We will acquire personal information in a lawful and appropriate manner, and not through dishonest or other questionable means.

2. Unless otherwise permitted by the applicable laws and regulations, we will not acquire personal information of a sensitive nature without obtaining your prior consent.

3. We will specify the purpose of use of personal information to the fullest extent possible and acquire such personal information to the extent necessary for the purpose.

3) Purpose of Use

1. We will clearly indicate the purpose of use whenever acquiring your personal information in writing. Notwithstanding the foregoing, we may not specify the purpose of use if there is an imminent need to protect the life, physical wellbeing or property of a person, or given the situation, the purpose of use is deemed obvious, or if required by applicable laws and regulations.

2. When acquiring personal information, directly or indirectly, through means other than above, or in the case of personal information that has already been acquired, such information will be used within the scope to fulfill the following purposes:

  •  ・To provide information on our products and business operations;
  •  ・To respond to various inquiries;
  •  ・To invite you to our exhibitions and industry events, track entry and exit, and to provide you with informative materials;
  •  ・To conduct questionnaire surveys on our services to improve customer satisfaction and employee awareness;
  •  ・For other general purposes to manage business partners, such as notifications and payments;
  •  ・To obtain statistical access information;
  •  ・For recruiting activities and communication with retirees;
  •  ・For notification to our shareholders and other administrative purposes; and
  •  ・To perform other businesses relating to any of the above purposes.

3. We may make changes to the purpose of use in above Articles 1 and 2 within the scope reasonably considered relevant with the purpose of use in these articles. Further, unless the laws and regulations specify otherwise, we will inform you of the change or post the updated Policy here.

4. We will not handle personal information beyond the scope required to achieve the purpose of use in above Articles 1 and 2 (including the changed purpose in the above article) without obtaining your prior consent except in the following instances where personal information may be used beyond the given scope:

  •  ・It is required by laws and regulations;
  •  ・It is required for protection of the life, physical wellbeing or property of a person and there are difficulties in obtaining your consent;
  •  ・It is specifically required for improving public health or welfare of children, and there are difficulties in obtaining your consent; or
  •  ・We are required to cooperate with government organizations, local authorities, or their consigned party in performing the administrative work required by applicable laws and regulations, and there is a risk of hindering the performance of such work if we should obtain your consent.

4) Management of Personal Information

1. We are committed to keeping personal information accurate and up-to-date within the scope necessary to achieve the purpose of use until we no longer need the information. We will destroy the information without delay when its service terminates

2. We ensure that officers and employees understand the importance of protecting personal information and maintaining security of personal data through appropriate supervision practices.

3. We will take all safety precautions in an adequate manner to prevent security threats such as unauthorized access to, loss, alteration, or leakage of personal information and establish and maintain organizational rules required for security controls.

4. Whenever the handling of personal information is outsourced, we will provide appropriate supervision to ensure the security of personal data and that such data is handled with utmost care by outsourcees.

5) Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties

1. We ensure that the personal information we collect is not provided to any third parties with the exception of the circumstances where: (In this Privacy Policy, (a) third party/parties may refer to any third person(s) or organization(s) except who are exempt by law or who incidentally receive such data because of personal data handling being outsourced, partially or entirely, within the scope of fulfillment of the purpose of use.)

  •  ・Your prior consent is obtained;
  •  ・It is required by laws and regulations;
  •  ・It is required for protection of the life, physical wellbeing or property of a person and there are difficulties in obtaining your consent;
  •  ・It is specifically required for improving public health or welfare of children, and there are difficulties in obtaining your consent; and
  •  ・We are required to cooperate with government organizations, local authorities, or their consigned party in performing the administrative work required by applicable laws and regulations, and there is a risk of hindering the performance of such work if we should obtain your consent.

2. Notwithstanding the provisions in the preceding paragraph, we may share personal data we collect for joint projects between Yorozu Corporation and its affiliates (that refer Yorozu Corporation, the consolidated subsidiaries and companies accounted for by the equity method described in the financial statements, etc.)

  •  ・What personal information we use jointly
    - Personal name, contact information (address, phone number, e-mail address, etc.)
    - Information on employment (including company name, department, title, etc.)
    - Inquiry contents, requests, contract details and those history, etc.

6) Inquiries about Personal Information

We respect data subject rights regarding personal information. If you believe that any of the information we acquired about you is inaccurate or need access to such information, please contact us. We will assist you in rectification of or accessibility to the information to the extent reasonable and necessary. Upon request for accessibility, we will verify the requester’s identity for security reasons.
